‘Innovative Food Solutions for Catering Professionals’ was the theme of a seminar targeting the catering industry held at The Palace Hotel in Sliema recently. The seminar was organised by M&Z (Marketing) Ltd – leading local importers and distributors of various food brands - and Unilever foodsolutions, Italy – Unilever’s dedicated foodservice business encompassing many of the world’s leading brands including PG Tips, Lipton, KNORR, Flora, Hellmann’s and be ice.
The seminar was opened with a presentation by Matthew Camilleri, M&Z (Marketing) Ltd Director, who gave a brief overview of the Company and its ties to Unilever which date back to the 1930s. Historically a retail orientated business, M&Z (Marketing) Ltd have recently geared up to extend their service to the catering sector. This is being backed by a dedicated foodservice team offering an impressive range of products and solutions for local chefs and managers. Guest Chef Gianluca Ortu from Unilever foodsolutions Italy then followed on to demonstrate a variety of savoury and sweet dishes to some of Malta’s top chefs and restauranteurs. Guests were invited to sample the dishes throughout the demonstration which included various savoury dishes enhanced by a number of KNORR products. be ice sorbetto, a front-of-house sorbet brand, was then used to cleanse the pallet and the seminar was completed by a demonstration of various Carte d’Or alsa desserts from the Unilever foodsolutions range.
